Survey on Digital Skills in Adult Social Care

Are you working in adult social care in England? Skills for Care wants to know how you use digital technologies (e.g. computers, mobile phones etc.). The results of the survey will help Skills for Care support digital skills in the sector. The survey also offers managers the chance to get further involved in the research by putting their organisation forward as a study site. The closing date is 7 February 2014.

National Federation of Housing Care Bill Conference

The Care and Support Bill modernises social care law into a single piece of legislation. Based on a new definition of wellbeing, the Bill aims to integrate services, regulate social care providers, and cap individual costs. Will the Bill give us the framework needed to make person-centred integrated care a reality?

Diary date: Dignity Action Day

Dignity Action Day – 01 February – is an annual opportunity for health and social care workers, and members of the public to uphold people’s rights to dignity and provide a memorable day for people who use care services. The Dignity Council, which organises the day, is asking health and social care workers to promote dignity in their place of work. They are also asking members of the public to promote dignity for people in their communities. As part of our support, SCIE will be sharing top tips about how to promote and deliver dignity in care through our twitter and facebook accounts, and via our website. Twitter hashtag #DAD2014
