Blackburn with Darwen Healthwatch would also like to hear from you if you’re interested in joining one of their two Task Groups on either Youth Engagement or Mental Health & Wellbeing please contact BwDHealthwatch for more information. The groups aim is to use people’s knowledge & experience to help develop & drive engagement projects, and they are keen to have representation from diverse backgrounds to ensure work is reflective & relevant to the local community.
Blackburn with Darwen Healthwatch hold a series of monthly workshops each with their own theme, giving you the opportunity to share your views and experiences whilst creating an environment for discussion and debate.
The next workshop will take place on Monday, 20th July at Your Support Your Choice, Town Hall Street Blackburn (opposite Blackburn Central Library). The theme of this will be ‘older people’

Lifeline East Lancashire are hosting a series of multi-professional discussion forums (MPDFs), which are aimed at professionals who work with parents. The forums will address how to best to support parents to have effective conversations with their children regarding alcohol.

This four day workshop guides participants through the principles of strength based community building and an introduction to the methodology of Asset Based Community Development alongside the tools required to develop the strength based approach.
A Multi Professional Discussion Forum has been arranged to take place on Tuesday 17th June 2014 at 2.00 – 4.00pm at Shadsworth Children’s Centre.
The event will be facilitated by Bridgett Welch, Assistant Director of Nursing Safeguarding Adults, Lancashire Care NHS Trust

Skills for Care have commissioned six regional learning and development workshops for
I Care …Ambassadors.
They will provide a relaxed and welcoming environment for ambassadors to connect with each other. The aim of the workshops is to support new and experienced ambassadors to enhance their skills, knowledge and confidence to maximise the impact of their interactions with those who are undecided about their future career direction.
