Safeguarding Development Manager: Adults (£38,424 – £42,033)
An opportunity has arisen for an exceptional candidate who is experienced, dynamic and suitably qualified to join Blackburn with Darwen Safeguarding Unit. This is an exciting role – we`re looking for a person who can lead by example and demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and analytical skills, emotional intelligence and partnership working.
As a qualified professional in a relevant field (social work, teaching, health, criminal justice etc) you will be able to demonstrate significant and relevant experience and a sound understanding of multi-agency safeguarding practice. You`ll manage the Local Safeguarding Adult Board (LSAB) core functions and be responsible for providing strategic support to the Independent Chair, Head of Safeguarding and board agencies. This role involves leading and developing the LSAB in preparation for the Care Act expectations and ensuring positive outcomes for residents in Blackburn with Darwen.
In addition to managing the LSAB functions, you will lead on safeguarding workforce development, communication/engagement and safeguarding in education for both the Local Safeguarding Adults Board (LSAB) and Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB).
You`ll be an exceptional communicator and team player – able to converse easily with senior managers and partner agencies. A strategic thinker, organised, empathetic yet pragmatic, you`ll have what it takes to develop effective and efficient safeguarding arrangements. You will need excellent management skills and the ability to work well with other teams and partners.

For this post, you will be educated to degree level with substantial, recent and relevant experience and evidence of continuing professional development.
